If you’ve recently purchased a game key for Steam, whether it’s from an online retailer, or a giveaway.
You’ll need to redeem it on the Steam platform to add the game to your library before you can start to play.
Here’s a quick guide on how to redeem a game key on Steam:
1. Install and Log In to Steam
First, make sure you have the Steam client installed on your computer. If you don’t have it yet, you can download it for free from the official Steam website. Once the installation is completed, launch the Steam client and log in to your account.
2. Navigate to the “Add a Game” Menu
In the bottom left corner of the Steam client, you’ll see a button that says “+ ADD A GAME”. Click on this button to open the “Add a Game” menu.
3. Select “Activate a Product on Steam”
From the “Add a Game” menu, choose the option that says “Activate a Product on Steam”. This will open a new window where you can enter your game key.
4. Enter Your Game Key
In the new window, you’ll see a field labeled “Product Code”. This is where you’ll need to enter the game key you’ve obtained. Carefully copy and paste or type in the key, making sure there are no extra spaces or characters.
5. Complete the Activation Process
Once you’ve entered the game key, click the “Continue” button. Steam will then verify the key and add the game to your library. Follow any additional prompts or instructions to complete the activation process.
6. Install and Play Your Game
